A race condition, if setuid, was discovered in beep.

There is no known workaround at this time.

Resolution
=========
All beep users should upgrade to the latest version:

  # emerge --sync
  # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=app-misc/beep-1.3-r3"
