Summary
A flaw in tmux's handling of escape characters was discovered which may allow a buffer overflow.
Resolution
All tmux users should upgrade to the latest version:
# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=app-misc/tmux-3.1c"
